Removal of Sonde Batteries

As temperatures drop, some customers will either monitor less or stow their sondes for the Winter. Regardless, if the sonde is to be stored for a short period of time between deployments, or for seasonal storage, customers
should remove the batteries from their sonde.
In the Care, Storage and Maintenance section of the manual, under "Sonde Storage" customers are advised to always remove the batteries from sondes that have battery
compartments.

Failure to remove batteries could lead to battery leakage; thereby damaging the sonde battery compartment. The acid will corrode any metal
object (such as battery contacts), stain the PVC material and could possibly get to the circuit board if the batteries leak enough that they corrode through contacts and or wires.

Batteries should always be removed before any shipment.
